Selling a Northern Virginia Home? Check out our FREE Home Value Report

Hey everyone, today we are excited to bring you the first part of a five-part series on the home buying process. Here in Northern Virginia, there are really four stages to buying a home: preparation, shopping, negotiation, and closing. Today, we are going to give you an introduction to the process.

The preparation stage begins with deciding to buy a home. The next thing you need to figure out is your buying power, so you know what you can afford. Then there's the matter of deciding to work with an agent, getting over the fallacy that not working with an agent will save you money.

The shopping stage is the most fun, and what most people want to jump right into. As it turns out, there is some significant preparation and planning to make the shopping less stressful. We are experts at that.

The negotiation stage is when you want to work with a consulting expert, who deals with negotiation strategies and knows what to do in multiple offer situations.

In the closing stage, it's all about avoiding surprises. I like surprises, but I don't like surprises that cost me a lot of money. We also take pride in working with inspectors to get you to a smooth closing.

Thanks for taking the time to check out our blog today. In the next video of this series, we will start going into more detail on each of the four stages of home buying. Next up, preparation!
